FALL INTO FLOW: Practice, motivation & consistency
Oppdatert: 26. aug.

Or flow into fall, however you'd like to put it...
The crisp and refreshing air of August and September in the northern hemisphere may for some evoke a touch of "summer blues" and reflective mood, as we resume our daily routines and the usual norms. For others, it offers a comforting return to familiarity, providing a sense of grounding and tranquility. I'm the latter ;)
Feeling deeply appreciative for the adventures, meetings, experiences and shared moments brought by summer, festivals and retreat; all this traveling in a short amount of time brings about a little bit of existential crisis in me. I thrive in routine and consistency, and I honestly think it's one of my biggest advantages as a yogateacher. My love for, and being firmly grounded in routine and slow progression builds the foundations for my own practice AND teaching. I believe this might be contagious or at least reciprocal, as I'm fortunate to have a good group of steady, strong students of yoga, and practitioners attending my classes.
I love all four seasons (except too long winters) but fall, sweater-weather, golden autumn colours and a regular practice- and teaching schedule are my absolute favourite season <3 Come find me, and join my classes at www.prindsenyogaogterapi.no
Although fond of consistency and motivated by the steady, slow progress of routine and repetition, I welcome change and new impulses when they show up. And this semester has had a few of those in store for me(!)
I left, and let go the dream of building a Jivamukti Yoga studio in Oslo. The challenges and conflicts that came with it had me questioning if I even wanted to continue teaching at all, and letting go came with a unexpected sense of relief, freedom and lightheartedness. I now teach at the beautiful and spacious studio PRINDSEN YOGA OG TERAPI, where I'm happy to contribute to their vision of a safe and healing practice-space, and community.
With close to fifteen years straight of teaching 10+ classes weekly (every week, more or less every month of the year) I am cutting down on the amount of regular classes. I still love to teach yoga, but want to create space for new projects, meaningful work, and to keep both the practice and teaching dear to my heart. I'm feeling really excited, refreshed and curious about this change!
Certain things will remain unchanged though. I will continue teaching the Jivamukti Yoga method to the best of my abilities. This method, with its structure and methodology, offers a framework of disciplines, practices, philosophies, and perspectives for deep exploration, while also allowing creative freedom to play and explore through music, sequencing, learning, and growth. Continuing to learn and grow keeps me interested, motivated and 'on the path'. I heard someone once say 'our innate human nature is the capacity to learn new things and evolve'. That deeply resonated with me.

The passion for learning, exploring, growing, and evolving through practice and teaching will remain constant, serving as the core and hearbeat of my teaching offerings, whether in Open Class, Basic, or the extended Sunday Service. Sundays will be the time to dive deeper into the framework and philosophies of yoga, with more of everything except asana/postures. More chanting, breathing and medtiation. More community, fun and relaxation. Together we will look at, and read through what is considered the classical texts and philosophies of yoga, share thoughts, concerns and experiences. I am looking forward to explore more, learn and grow together with you!
